Contractor Terms of Use
Version 2026-08-01
These terms cover your use of the SolarHub Contractor Portal. We call it "the portal" below. "We" and "us" means SolarHub. "You" means the contractor signing in.
Please read them. You have to accept them before you can use the portal.
1. Who you are agreeing with
The portal is operated by Smart Renewables Pty Ltd (ABN 32 168 981 780), trading as SolarHub, of 2/157 Flemington Road, Mitchell ACT 2911.
2. These terms and your contract with us
These terms are about the portal only — how you sign in, what you can see, and what you may do with it.
They do not change the commercial agreement you have with us about the work itself: your scope, your rates, your insurance, or your licensing.
3. Your account
We create your account. There is no public sign-up.
You sign in with a one-time code sent to your mobile or your email. There is no password.
You must:
- keep your phone and email account secure;
- not share your code, or let anyone else use your account;
- tell us straight away if you lose your phone, or if you think someone else has used your account.
Anything done under your account, we will treat as done by you.
Report a lost phone, or anything that looks like someone else has been in your account, to customer-service@solarhub.net.au.
4. What you can use the portal for
Use the portal to do the work we have engaged you to do. That includes:
- looking at work orders assigned to you;
- accepting or declining work;
- downloading job packs and site documents;
- uploading photos and other job records;
- submitting your invoices.
Do not use the portal for anything else. In particular, do not try to reach jobs, customers or documents that are not assigned to you, and do not use automated tools to bulk-download from it.
5. Customer information
The portal shows you real customer details: names, home addresses, mobile numbers, and photos of their property.
You may only use that information to do the job. You must not:
- share it with anyone who is not working on that job;
- keep it after you no longer need it for the job;
- use it to market anything to the customer;
- copy it into another system, unless we have agreed in writing that you can.
That last point matters if you run your own job-management software. See the Privacy Notice.
6. What you tell us
You must make sure that what you submit through the portal is accurate and honest. That includes your invoices, your photos, and anything you tell us about the state of a job.
Do not invoice for work you have not done. Do not submit a photo of a different site.
If we find something is wrong, we may ask you to correct it, and we may hold payment while we sort it out.
7. Availability
We try to keep the portal running, but we do not promise it will always be available. We may change it, take it offline for maintenance, or stop offering parts of it.
If the portal is down, contact us the usual way and we will work around it.
8. Suspending your access
We can suspend or remove your access at any time — for example if your engagement with us ends, if we think your account has been compromised, or if you break these terms.
Losing portal access does not by itself end your contract with us, and does not affect invoices you have already properly submitted.
9. If we change these terms
We may update these terms. If we do, we will publish a new version and ask you to accept it the next time you sign in. You will be shown the new text before you accept it.
We keep a record of which version you accepted and when.
10. Privacy
How we handle personal information — yours and the customers' — is set out in the Privacy Notice. It forms part of these terms.
11. Liability
This section is about the portal — the software. Liability for the work itself, including your workmanship, injury, property damage and insurance, is dealt with in your agreement with us about the work, and nothing here changes that.
We provide the portal as it is. We do not promise it will be fault-free, always available, or always up to date. We are not liable to you for loss you suffer because the portal was down, slow, or showed something that had since changed — for example time you spend waiting on it, or a trip you make on the basis of a work order that had already been reassigned. If something looks wrong, check with us before you act on it.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded or limited. Where we are permitted to limit our liability, our total liability to you for anything connected with the portal is limited to supplying you access to it again.
You are responsible for how you use the portal — in particular for keeping your account secure (section 3), for staying inside what the portal is for (section 4), for the customer information you take out of it (section 5), and for what you submit through it (section 6). If we suffer loss or a claim because you did not, that is on you.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory. You and we submit to the courts of the Australian Capital Territory.
13. Questions and complaints
If you have a question about the portal, or a complaint about how we have handled something in it, email customer-service@solarhub.net.au.
Tell us what happened and what you would like us to do. We will acknowledge you, look into it, and come back to you with an answer. If we need more from you to sort it out, we will ask.
If your complaint is about privacy — how we handle personal information — the Privacy Notice sets out that process.
